Should I go off depo?

I have been on it for 4 yrs off & on. I saw online that you shouldn't be on the depo shot for more then 2 yrs. My question is should I go off of it & go back on the pill?

I am also sexually active with 1 partner

I was on Depo for 5 years before I started showing signs of demineralization and switched to the implant instead. If you're concerned that you might be starting the same thing (this is the reason they recommend it for such a short term) then you can talk to your doctor and get checked out. If you're not showing any signs or symptoms though then there is no reason to automatically change unless you wish to.

First off, it's not a particularly good idea to be using any kind of hormonal birth control "off and on", it messes with your hormonal cycle quite a bit. You need to talk to your doctor about this.
