Pokken Tournament: Competitive or casual future?

With Pokken Tournament being confirmed for Evo many say it is a game with a bright competitive future. However its combos seem very linear with a very rock-paper-scissors factor intetaction during fasts moments. Granted all other fighting games have this aspect, but due to faster frames and greater options, other games are not quite so prediction based. Do you think this isn't a worry and the competitive scene will grow past it, or will the game fall off and become purely casual?

I dunno, I think it might have a decent competitive future, but I doubt it's getting near Street Fighter. The fact that it's so prediction based makes it a little unique since it's all about mind games at higher levels, but I think it went a little too far in that direction. Making just about everything safe on block is pretty excessive. I can see people still liking it but I doubt there's a whole lot of room for the meta to grow.
