Is it unchristian to suggest atheists worship their chosen gods?

If the definition of rendering worship is, to "put above or before ourselves" then atheists also worship a god, whatever that god might be. Do you agree? However, people usually do this when they try to reject the existence of a rival god. But whichever the case the acknowledgement of gods is always there. Agreed?

Your question contains a non-sequitur. Even accounting for your given definition of worship, the object being worshipped is not necessarily regarded as a god. Moreover, I don't think that definition captures the essence of what it means to worship.

For example, I put the needs of my daughter above my own, but I certainly wouldn't describe myself as worshipping her. Any given father, myself included, might use poetic speech or allegory to describe his love for his daughter, but it doesn't mean he literally thinks she's a divine entity.

Having said all this, I still don't know where to begin answering your question.

Added: If you're going to extend the definition of "worship" to "to regard highly", and the definition of "god" to "anything which is worshipped", then both of those words lose their meaning.

First of all you need to look up the dictionary what atheist means. Secondly if you are talking about converting a non-believer then think how Jesus has converted His followers Definitely not by lip service but by actions. It is boring; pointless and psychedelic to listen over and over again how good Jesus was but show the actions.

In the USA that is called supporting someone else in their path of freedom. It is a civil right, listed in the US Constitution. Freedom of Religion, Seperation of Church from State. To worship or not to worship is up to the individual. Whenever one person loses his or her rights, we all lose our rights.

Why can't you understand that atheists, by their very nature, DON'T WORSHIP ANYONE? If they DID, they wouldn't be atheists! SMH

i don't know about it being un-christian since i don't follow christianity, but, it does make you appear unintelligent to make such an illogical suggestion. No one has to reject the existence of any rival god because one has to first be proven to actually exist.

By the very fact that we are atheists, we do NOT worship any god. We not believe I any god.

Everybody worships their own god. What you truly believe to be truth you act upon.

Disagree, due to your brainwashing you are unable to understand that atheists don't believe in any god.
