Someone at my university faked cancer?
There was this girl who rarely showed up to class and when our professor asked, she said that she had stage 3 cancer. We all felt really bad and sent letters to her hospital to help her feel better. The hospital sent a huge package with all of our letters in them talking about how they'd been getting those letters for months and they've been trying to find another hospital with that patient and apparently she's not in any of the nearby cancer hospitals. Next time she came to class me and a friend asked why she did it. She said because she Doesn't like coming to class and she needed and excuse. I want to know if she can go to jail because she also started a Kickstarter and raised over $5,000. That's basically theft. She conned us into "helping her pay for her medical bills" I feel cheated.

If she took even a cent of the kickstarter fund, she commited fraud and should/will be charged by the police.
At the very least she should be suspended or even dismissed from the Univ for breaking ethical standards.

Ok, the lie you can't do much about, but the Kickstarter you can. That's Fraud. With a big F.

if she got any MONEY, then she can be jailed. it is called FRAUD, not theft.
YOUR TEACHER and the University Administration shoudl already be handling the problem
If YOU donated money , then YOU should be talking to the police.
