Can a doctor write a note for absence from work if he calls in a prescription?

I had pink eye which I constantly get as well as cold sores on my lip so he called me in the prescription that helps but my employer wants a doctor note

    He can write a note for absence any time you need to stay home.

    A doctor can do whatever the doctor wants to and an employer can accept or not accept anything they want. There are no rules.

    The doctor can write anything they want. The employer can accept or reject anything the doctor writes.

    call your doctor and tell him that your boss wants a note.

    Sure, if they are willing to.

    If you constantly get pink eye, you may want to work on washing your hands.
