What is the connection between House M.D. and Oreos?

People keeps saying they're going to have to buy/eat oreos for the series finale. What am I missing here?

The Oreos thing actually only started last week with the episode called "Holding On."

In the episode, House is trying to convince Wilson to do more chemo, but he doesn't want Wilson to know that he's still trying. So he takes him to this restaurant and they start reminiscing about past adventures they've been on. House hopes that this will convince Wilson that their friendship is worth living longer and doing more chemo. This actually works and Wilson agrees until about a second later when he realizes House is conning him. ANYWAYS the story they were reminiscing about goes something like this:

House and Wilson were on a camping trip. They tied their food up in a tree so bears wouldn't get it. House did the knots and Wilson told him that they weren't good enough, but House refused to fix them because he said they were fine. Wilson turned out to be right because a bear came and ate all their food. The only thing it didn't eat were the Oreos. So Wilson, with nothing to eat but Oreos, hiked 30-something miles on nothing but the creamy filling (because he thinks the dark part is overrated).

Edit: Forgot one little part. Later, when Wilson and House are in a bit of a fight because House refused to comfort Wilson unless he does more chemo, Wilson is alone in his apartment. He goes to get a drink and sees a package of Oreos behind his alcohol. This convinces him to go to House's apartment, where they make up, House accepts Wilson's decision to stop chemo, and Wilson asks him if he has any Oreos.
