How to allow non-admin users to update Java while away from the company?

A company has a policy where the users don t have the admin credentials for it s Windows(7) laptops. However, Java updates are needed for certain functionality: if an outdated Java version is found, the application refuses (rightfully so) to start.

How should the company change the laptops so that Java updates are allowed at all times?

And maybe Flash, and Adobe Reader, and create network connections (for Wifi).

The user must be able to do so, while away (=not logged on to a company domain).

You need to create a security profile on the domain server which allows those programs to update under non admin use, or allows ALL users admin access for only those programs.

Users generally cannot. Send an email to the admin(s) or tech support. Most times they do it through the network and it effects all the systems on the network.
