Why do people say kids can't consent to sex?

You recently commented on another question asking about a 24 year old sleeping with a 14 years old and your answer was "she's only 14 once go for it" pretty much along those lines so I'm assuming that you are saying kids as in rather young children/ very young teens. Either you are a troll that needs to get out more or you should be ashamed of yourself for thinking that anything about this is ok!

Obviously they can say yes. The problem comes with the idea of informed consent. They cannot see all the consequences of their actions. I don't just mean getting pregnant even though that's highly likely, I mean the damage to their brains by messing up which part is supposed to be developing at the time.

I think they're saying that kids don't have the experience/wisdom to consent to something like that. For instance if it wasn't illegal for people to sign contracts under 18, then car salesmen and whatnot would be taking advantage of naive 15 year olds.

Of course a kid can say yes, I want it. They're just saying they aren't old enough to REALLY know if that's what they want.

They can't consent to it in an adult sense, because they don't fully know what it is--because they are not physically capable of experiencing it as an adult is. Even if they've been told the "facts of life", it's not the same thing; they can't fully know what it's about if their bodies haven't matured.

They live in America and that's why.

Because minors are more stupid than your average individual. That is the same reason that minors can't vote or be bound by a contract.

They do not have the wherewithal to decide that for themselves. You know that. You're just a perv...and you know that too.
