How can I get my apartment manager to fix issues?
It's been since January that I've requested many repairs be done. I'm not talking small little things like holes in the wall or stains on the carpet. I'm talking about the stove not working, dripping noise coming from the air conditioning unit, the toilet bowl not filling up and water leaking from underneath the bathroom sink. I've been very polite to them, I have not threatened or harassed them about the issue, I've tried to be very patient and they still won't send anybody to my place. I've paid rent and utilities on time and never had any type of strike against my apartment. I'm completely out of ideas and don't know what to do. The stove that didn't get fixed, that was reported back In January, had one of the heating coil's catch fire last week. After I called the emergency maintenance line, they finally sent someone out and replaced the stove, but not till after something dangerous happened. I'm completely out of ideas again.

You are not able to get your apartment manager to do anything. You need to make sure all your request for repairs have been in writing.
Now do you fell as if you want to go through the bureaucracy that you would need to in order to get the things done you want done as your landlord picking each little small thing you do as a means of making an attempt at evicting you.
If what you are reporting as needing repaired are health issues, you would need to contact the city Health
Department. If the repairs need to repairing are safety related you would need to contact your city Safety department. In some cities they might be housed as one department.
You also might want to contact your local landlord tenancy advocacy group to make your complaints known. this group would normally offer you legal information about the various laws and means you might be able to get your landlord to comply and make the necessary repairs. Normally this agency would offer information at no cost to you.
I hope this has been of some benefit to you, good luck.
