A guy asked me to take him out to dinner?

Well I said he has nice eyes, then he responded by saying thank you and I should take him out to dinner sometime. When people say this do they normally expect YOU to pay for all of it? I'm 20 and he's 26, kinda seems weird to try to be getting kids to pay for your dinner, not at least split it. I got my wisdom teeth out yesterday so I have some time to think about it but what do you guys think I should do? I also feel kinda iffy because I'm always the one who initiates conversation and shows interest..

By the way yes we are gay to save 20 people from commenting/asking :)

    I guess it won't hurt getting to know I each other and paying for the meal once but make him do it lol

    I have no idea of the etiquette involved maybe he wants you to take control ----- his age does not matter
