Do I have a chance?

There s a girl that s my friend who is a self proclaimed lesbian. I ve known her for 6+ years and been good friends with her for 2, and she told me last year but claims she has been for 8 years. We just got back from a 4 day trip, during which we had a lot of 1 on 1 time mostly with her in a bikini and me shirtless. Now today we texted for 2 hours, and it seems like she might actually be straight. She has been really friendly, playful, and touchy with me and is actually trying to talk to me and we ve both been opening up to each other. Also one of my friends pointed out that she may be straight too. She has never dated anyone, but over the last 2 years she told 2 girls that she liked them and over the trip got another girls number. I m wondering do I have a chance with her or should I stop trying?

She could be bi. Or she could simply be enjoying your friendship the way another guy would. The "playful and touchy" aspect MAY be just because some girls--more girls than guys--are like that w/ everybody.

So your best move is to talk to her about your feelings. If she's the kind of friend you describe, she'll be honest right back. And if you're any kind of man, you'll keep right on being friends no matter what her answer is.

P.S. Strong doubts that she said she's been lesbian for 8 years. Far more likely she's *known* she's lesbian for 8 years.

If you can handle disappointment, why not keep trying? Have you discussed your feelings with her? That's the best way to determine what's possible.
