I don't think this should be in STD category first of all. That sounds like it isn't a serious question.

Some white people I know call each other the N word just for fun. They don't mean anything by it (as far as I know) but is a term they use as more of an endearment like others might use girlfriend.

In England and Ireland the N word is banned and one might get into a bit of trouble using it openly. It is slur or racist is a white person calls a black person the N word. For a black person to call another black person the N word, it doesn't have the same meaning. Its like a white person calling another white person Whitey.

If it's the word I think you're using, white people have used it in hatred or to gain power over black people, because they used the N word as an insult. Unless you're good friends or close to a black person that's ok with it just don't use it if you're white.

Because white people are devils, and therefore they are not allowed to use certain words. Why? Are you wanting to use this word? Maybe black people should charge you to use it. There appears to be a lot of white people who would love to use this word. It's in high demand. Black people could stand to make a nice little profit.

White people mostly use it while dressed up like ghosts on Halloween.

I think it depends on the person, i have asked multiple black people and they had diffrent response, but it would be like a black person calling you a Caucasoid (if you're white.) But i think what it comes down to is context.

I'm not black, and I say nincompoop all the time. Nobody has ever seemed to have an issue with me using that word.

For the same reason that flatlanders calling Vermonters "woodchuck" is derogatory but home grown Vermonters use the term amongst themselves as a term of unification or endearment.

It's a form or racism against whites. Anytime someone does a skin melanin count before deciding what you are allowed to say, that by definition is racism.
