Are light/ultra light cigarettes any better for you or are they actually worse?
I m talking about Marlboro golds and silvers and camel blues

Light/ Mild cigarettes have 40-60% less nicotine. But research has shown it is as harmful to an average smoker. As the smoker craves for his nicotine high they tend to take deeper and larger puffs so nicotine intake tends to be constant. If you keep your inhalation similar, then lighter ones are better for your health.

Many "light" cigarettes have even higher levels of toxic ingredients. They may be labeled light, simply because they have a lighter taste, nothing more.

No. They are not better for you.
Smoking is bad for you. The way to avoid that risk is to stop smoking. See your doctor for help quitting.
