Was Charles Barkley ridiculous for saying kawhi Leonard was the best player in the world?

Nobody really cares about the dumb things he says, they just like having him there for comic relief. Barkley is like the court jester with the three pointed hat pointed shoes.

I don't think it's a ridiculous opinion. Leonard is versatile in a way very few NBA players have ever been. He's not just a scorer, he is an elite multi-position defender as well. If that's part Barkley's reasoning, then I don't think his opinion is crazy at all. Sure there are several current NBA players who are better scorers than Leonard, but most of those players aren't (nearly) the defensive force that Leonard is and the game is played on both ends of the floor. I wouldn't personally pick Leonard as my "best player in the world", but I can see how someone could make some valid points in an argument over it.

Barkley says a lot of really stupid things. He said last season that there's no way Golden State would win the championship and said the same thing earlier this season.

He might have been saying that Kawhi is the best all around player in the world, which I would agree with. The only thing Kawhi doesn't do well is make plays for others, but that's only because the Spurs offense doesn't require him to.

Depends on how you define who is the best player, his game is more complete than Stephen Curry's game, he does everything well, and Curry does not, but Curry is the better player.

Anything Chuck says should be credited as ridiculous.
