My period always leaks at school?

I always use over night pads (which are extra absobant and long) but i always seem to leak at school.

Like for example today I was even wearing spandex shorts under my jeans to make sure my pad didnt slide around but i still leaked out the side and it was enough that it went through my jeans and was noticeable.

This isnt the first time this has happened either

(I change my pad every three hours btw)

how can I prevent this??

(p.s dont say tampons bc I can't use them for medical reasons)

For those of us who have had heavy periods all the time (I did too), tampons are useless.

My advice to you is, during the times you are on your period, keep an extra pair of jeans in your locker or backpack if you use one. If you roll them, they will take less space.

I feel your pain, i really do!

Have you talked to the doctor about these heavy periods? You are in high school, i'm guessing, and you shouldn't be having these abnormally heavy periods, as far as i'm concerned. When i had mine, I was in my 30s and had already had two children.

First of all, consider changing the pad more often, maybe every two hours or hour and a half. Secondly, you may want to go to the doctor and see if there is anything he can give to you to help regulate/ lighten your period, such as birth control. Don't be ashamed to talk to your mom about it because usually heavy period are genetic and she might have some tips.

Would you be able to use menstrual cups instead of tampons or pads? If so, they would work wonders in your situation. They are basically a re-useable cup you insert into your vagina and they catch the blood.

If you can't use menstrual cups, I suggest just changing your pad more often. Change in every two bourse instead of three. Also, go to the bathroom in between each class just to check how full the pad is.

Change them every two hours instead of every three hours if you need to. If your pads don't have wings, get the ones with wings.

Sometimes I find that certain styles of underwear make it more susceptible for leakage (but that's just for me).
