I am having trouble playing Age of Empires 2 and Total War: Shogun 2 and I want help from Steam but they only send me to forums that don't solve my problem. How can I contact them directly for help? Thanks!

What exactly do you need help with? Valve (Steam) are not behind the age of empires/total war games, they're simply the platform it is being sold on. Unless it is a problem involving Steam then they won't help you.
Your options are to use the forums or another site such as Yahoo Answers, or contact the developers.
Without knowing what the situation is, we can't direct you to the correct place to help solve the issue.
