Would you read a book that consisted entirely of world building?

If I wrote an encyclopedia of an imaginary world, like any wiki page, could you enjoy something like that?

Have you read "Utopia" by Sir Thomas More? His main character decribes an island country run in monastic lines. Interesting to compare it with early 16th century England, which was his intention; but it lacks action and plot.

If you intend to compare your world to the present state of this world, as a political or social or environmental statement, it might intrigue some readers. It won't work as a novel. Only readers who wish to travel read travel guides.

Only if I'd read and enjoyed actual stories set in that world. Nobody reads the appendices of The Lord of the Rings without reading the story of The Lord of the Rings first.
