Are the Cicadas going to be really bad this year in Cleveland OH?

So I'm from Cincy but next month in driving up there to see the Rock and roll hall of fame and to see some other touristy stuff as I've never been there before. I already booked a hotel and everything. Personally I'm not worried about them because last time I saw them was in 2004 and they were annoying and goofy looking, but not awful. My passengers on the other hand are freaking out about them and won't go even though they already paid for their rooms too.

I read where southern PA into the Virginias are supposed to be the hardest hit. But what's the big deal? They're noisy but harmless.

Tell your friends to go stand in the middle of an orchard when the cicadas are in full song at the height of the 17 year cycle.

I had to work next to one for a few days, and the sound was so loud we had to almost yell our conversations....it was an awesome experience really.
