How do i disable my headphone jack on my MacBook Pro?
A pair of headphones broke and the end got stuck in the jack. Is there a way to disable sound going to the broken headphones and instead play out the speaker?

In your system preferences, click on sound. Then, go to the output tab and double click on internal speakers.

DO NOT TRY THIS YOURSELF - unless you are very, very skilled, brave, or have the $$$ to buy a new MacBook when you break this one. There are all kinds of horror stories about people trying to put Crazy Glue on a toothpick, and hoping to extract the broken plug that way. Forget it. You can TRY to *burp* it out - hitting the edge of the MacBook onto a firm yet padded surface (chair arm?) until the plug move close enough to the open edge, where you can grab it with needlenose pliers (or end up shoving it back in by accident . . ). You can also try to OPEN the MacBook ( which voids any warranty you have) and see if the socket is open on the internal end - at which point, you get push the broken plug out towards its original point of entry. Or - and I know that you just SKIPPED OVER the obvious - take it to a shop.
This past week, I had a sticking button on one of my synths. Since I DO have some knowledge here, I though I would open it up, and clean ALL the contacts!!! Blow out all the dust! I took about about FIFTY screws - and saw that I was not even half-way there. Gave up - put the screws back in. Put the synth in the back of my van.
Spend a couple of bucks - instead of possibly being FORCED to spend a whole pile of bucks.
Added - repair of typos. Sorry.
