Cat got a baby bird? Help?
I found three in the backyard, and ones still alive. I brought him in and he doesn't seem to have any broken bones, or deep puncture wounds, he had a little cut I guess on his head, and a website said to put aloe plant on it, so I did. Other than that it looks like it has some bruise on its back but hopefully it's nothing too bad. He's pretty young, breathing a little hard, and kinda lolling his head back and forth/bringing his head up and blinking sometimes. I put him in a washcloth, and a shoebox and he's in a dark quiet room, is there anything else I can do? Thanks!!

Even a tiny puncture wound will cause infection. Cat's mouths are filled with bacteria, and without immediate help, the bird will die a horrible death. Please take the bird to a wild animal rehab center where they will treat with anti biotics and pain meds. They are licensed to care for wild birds, who are protected in North America. The breathing hard and rolling head indicate pain/fear. Please get it some help. If there are others on the ground, they too may have been in your cat's mouth. Take them with you.
