My boyfriend and I got into a fight. How do I make up with him. I want to make it work with him.?

Me and my boyfriend got into a huge fight last night which led to him putting knives at his neck and his friend got involved and kept him from doing anything farther than that because I was crying to hard. He then told me on the way to my house that I needed to be more mature. This whole thing started because I didn t want him going back to his friends due to him having to be at work early and him needing the gas money. How do I make up with him and he lives over an hour away from me.

    Wow - this is horrible. You weren't the immature one - HE was. He was threatening to kill himself over a silly fight. That is a bad sign - especially if this was just your first fight. You have to wonder what will happen if a future fight breaks out.

    I would text him and ask him when a good time to call would be. Then talk about it. Explain to him that you never wanted to fight and were only trying to look out for him. Tell him you knew he had to work and needed gas money, so you were trying to help him see how going to a friend's house may not be a good choice at the time.

    Communication is key in a relationship so you both need to work on that if you want to be successful.

    I don't know. I know I wouldn't want to make up with someone who's emotionally manipulative like this. But that's just me...and other SMART people that want no part in this, either.

    Unless you can give me helpful advice on how to make up with him don't say anything. This is the first big fight we have ever been in.
