In the Democratic partty system superdelegates are delegates who are not bound to vote for a certain candidate. They can vote however they want. A big chunk of superdelegates are made up of elected officials: all current and former presidents and vice presidents as well as current Senators, Governors, and Congressmen. The rest of the superdelegates are party officials of one kind or another.

All voters may be equal in the general election, but not in the Democratic primary.

Super delegates wear capes and their underwear over their pantyhose.
