My mother and I both saw a strange shadow follow a man into his car! What could it be?

My mother and I were driving through a small suburban neighborhood. As we passed a house we saw a man walking towards his car. In broad daylight i see a shadow like figure dash from behind a tree behind his car.

I thought it was a person crossing the street so I told my mother to slow down for pedestrians
She said she saw the person too, but when we passed the man s car nobody was on the sidewalk.

My mother and I were both in a state of disbelief because we both saw the same strange shadow  like figure that moved quickly into the man s car.
