What does wagering mean?

I have just joined a casino website. They offer you 50 free spins on a slot machine.

I did this and won £25.

Now it says I need to wager this money 60x before I can withdraw.

What on earth does this mean?

Thank you.

    Bet.

That's the catch. How do you think casinos stay in business. They need people to bet and lose. They're not going to just give away money. If they did they won't be in business for long.

There's a reason you won. It's the carrot that's dangling in front of you. To get that carrot you need to use your own money and bet. Even if you bet 1£ and lose 50% of the time (to simplify things but in reality casinos will win 51% of the time) you still end up losing 30£ while you get back 25£ so the casino wins 5£.

    "Wager" means to bet.

In other words, you have to place bets of at least £1,500 before you can withdraw your original £25.

But I don't have that kind of money. I don't understand sorry.
