Why do people actually care if people are different to them?

From race, to religion, to fandoms, to just small things like a food. People like to hate on people for no reason with barely any proof to back themselves. People should just give in and not care.

When it comes to the history of cults, like christianity, it's always been that way -- since the days of Galileo and before. People were MURDERED for being right, educated, for doing research, trying to further human knowledge -- and people are STILL taken to task by religion today for the same thing -- and much more.

    Some things never change.

It is a way for them to deal with their own doubt. If they doubt their religion, they feel bad, so they "numb it out" by taking it on others. This would make them rationalize their own "faith" by making them try to make arguments that would be some sort of "convincing" to them, and in their delirium, are seen as some kind of brownie points with their "god".

They think that, if they have doubt, they can make up for it by being intolerant.
