I Have two theories, firstly, he could either be a nice guy, who just pictures you as a friend or, he could be overly shy, if this the case, to find out i would show that you like him subtly, by giving little hints (only little ones), if he picks up on those hints and smiles, well there you go, he is interested, if he doesn't don't get distressed he might just not see it, but if he seems awkward afterwards, it just means he is not interested in you for a relationship. Well, if a guy is staring at you there must be something he likes right or see something that caught his eye? It's hard to think if he likes you when he's around alot of girls. If he stares at you alot more later on then you can sense that he likes you. Usually when a guy stares alot or mare than a day it means they like you. Some guys are quiet about it. But in your case he could see something in you that he likes about. But don't get your hopes up yet. See if a friend knows anything about that

Sounds like you are reading to much into his actions. He could just be someone that zones out and daydreams and doesn't realise he stares. But if you are sure that its you he's staring at, he could possibly be interested. Maybe just a friendship? Yeah you are jumping to conclusions.. its not impossible though, obviously. If you like him, then here's your chance to talk to him!
