I need to find out about Iceland!?

I wanna take a trip to Iceland, specifically Reykjavik and need some basic info if anyone has some expertise in that and has gone previously, or lives there?

Do they commonly speak English (especially in hotels and tour related areas)?

What would be the best time to go?

I have found some good priced and rated hotels but if you have a really good recommendation for that, lemme know.

What will I want to do there (big tourist attractions)?

Thanks a bunch, first time traveling alone.

In short, English is widely spoken, I have not found anybody who did not speak a basic English, certainly nobody involved with tourism.

Best time to go is between NYD and NYE, ie the whole year. Which months are best for you depends on what you like, which you do not tell.

It will never be hot, it will not often snow. May to October is cool, more likely to be summery but rain is likely any day.

The only advice I have concering tourist attractions: Skip the Blue Lagoon. Overpriced. And I did not even enjoy it.

Just buy a tourist guidebook to Iceland and all your questions will be answered! Or, look at the Reykjavik Tourist Office website: http://www.visitreykjavik.is/travel/tourist-inform...
