Morality is cultural. Not all morality is universal. Islamic cultures allow men much dominance over their families. Islam allows a man to marry up to 4 wives. As westerners, we find wife beating repugnant and immoral. We also are only allowed 1 wife at a time. Many men in western societies are secret wife beaters. I don't think either situation is moral. Men should not beat women, IMHO.

Are you talking about Islam? It's "moral" standards are 100% IMMORAL!!!.

Mohammad was a murderer, pedophile, adulterer, a psychopath...a violent monster. How can someone with all these "qualities" (and more...) be moral?

B.t.w. they don't beat their wives only for disobedience... they supposed to beat them regularly without any other reason than to keep them in submission and fear.

Women are equal to animals/slaves... made by "allah" to serve men.

It used to be the way men were legally allowed to treat women here in the US.

Disobedience is a relative word. Disobedient to what? If the husband is a terrorist he will ask his wife to support him for his purpose. If she is peaceloving he will find her disobedient naturally. If he is a religious fanatist and she a sobre normal human there will be lots of disobediences in many areas.

Many religions do. Also, many countries do. Their country and we live in our country. Whether it is moral or not is something that can only be answered if one lives in that country. What seems immoral from afar, may not be while living everyday in it. With that said, their is always consequences. Their country is saying it is ok to use a belt to spank their wives. The US and the west also have unfair laws so as they say, people in glass houses should not throw stones...........

Depends on one's morality. Clearly it is seen as moral for many people in Pakistan. It would not be moral for me

Why not try staying out of their politics. They know best for their own people.

Someone's gotta keep them in line, otherwise they leave you for some looser.
