Thoughts on residual ghost sightings/hauntings?

I was watching a video earlier called "Ten Dimensions Explained", and it made me think of something. I'll post a link to it down below so you can watch it if you'd like.

In the video, the man explains the 4th dimension as "duration", whereas it contains all the different versions of space in their existence at every fraction of time (In his explanation, what we perceive as "Time" is a straight line or single direction in the 4th dimension. We can only view this one straight line since we live in a 3 dimensional existence.)

So, in reality, all of duration is simultaneous, but 3 dimensional beings can only perceive duration in a "straight line", or time, moving forward.

So, while understanding this above, think about this scenario:

People have reported seeing ghosts of confederate or union soldiers at the battle of Gettysburg before. From the reports that I've personally read, it seems as if the soldiers were not aware of the park guests and were performing actions as if it was 1863. (You probably know where i'm going with this, but I'll finish anyways).

My theory is that these soldiers aren't ghosts at all, but are the ACTUAL soldiers from the battle, and what people are seeing is a "glimpse" through the 4th dimension, a fragment of another time in that exact place, through some act of science (or perhaps electromagnetism?) that we don't yet understand. Running out of room here, so those are my thoughts on the subject. I'd like you hear your guy's opinions on it too.

I have had the benefit of quite a lot of verifiable sightings so maybe I can work with you or at least tell you what I experienced.

First there seems to be two types of hauntings. One is where we see them in their timeline, and the other is they exist and act in our timeline. Where they are in our timeline I don't often get to see them, but it is more what they do which is noticeable.

When I see them in their timeline it is more of an ability to do this rather than an option for everyone. I see everything as it was in that time - including how the building was decorated, where the furniture was, wall and window positions even though they may have been altered at a later date. Where walls have been removed I actually feel a pressure when I walk through the area so something is still there in some time for me to feel it.

I agree that we think time is a straight line but I find it possible to look back to events that happened many hundreds of years ago - and are verifiable in most cases. The only problems I get are that beyond 1450ish not a lot was written down. My best evidence I have is from 1850 and sooner because better records were kept.

You are trying to explain an unverified phenomenon with an unfalsifiable hypothesis by means of an unknown mechanism.

First things first - confirm phenomenon to actually exists. Good luck though - this has never been able to be done.

" People have reported seeing ghosts of confederate or union soldiers at the battle of Gettysburg before."

Yeah well people report seeing all sorts of things, it doesn't mean it is true though. You need to first determine if such a thing is really happening before you race off to make a crackpot theory to explain it.
