I would not, for "toxic femininity" is an insult to femininity, to girls and to women.

If we follow feminists' example in the way they define "toxic masculinity", pretty much every complaint feminists have about "women's roles" and the negative effect they purportedly have on women could be encapsulated with the term "toxic femininity".

Of course feminists won't adopt the term "toxic femininity" the way they have embraced "toxic masculinity" because it implies that there is something "toxic" associated with being female.

    Some examples of toxic femininity:

Telling girls that boys won't like them if they're smart.

Not allowing females to wear pants, even when it is cold out because it isn't "ladylike"

Telling High School girls that their only career choices are Teacher, Secretary, or Housewife.

These are some things (there are so many more!) that baby-boomer and Gen X era women have experienced.

It seems like some of you have absolutely no clue that women in the not so far off past had severe restrictions on their lives. Talk to your mothers and grandmothers, they will be able to tell you firsthand.

    Live and learn.

I think 'toxic femininity', like 'toxic masculinity' is a retarded concept. Watch, feminists will show up and defend one while endorsing the other. They will then try to get us to think that they're NOT sexists!

There are no such things as Toxic Masculinity™ nor Toxic Femininity™.

Those are made-up terms of propaganda from people who know better, but are trying to trick the public.

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned!

Women can be very vindictive (revengeful)! The revengeful mature of a women is very toxic that goes unchecked quite frequently.

Any female telling me my masculinity is toxic has symptoms of toxic femininity.

That's my description of toxic femininity.

I suppose it would be an extreme version of traditional gender roles. The idea that women's value is in birthing children and making food. I think it's on the decline except in some enclaves. (I'm looking at you, Mormons.)

it's gender roles we put on women (and they put on themselves) which harm both women and men

we're all responsible, all the adults in society to some extent

how does it hurt women, well look at it this way, if a woman sits around waiting for a man to ask her out she has only those options to chose from who ask her out. Now if she moves past that gender role and starts asking guys out her options open up and she has more men from which to chose a suitor, just one example we can probably think of a lot more.

Toxic feminity to me is female feminists telling other females what to do, what to believe and how to behave.
