Yes.-...........the will very clearly laid out who was suppose to get what.........but by the time the will was found, read, and suppose to be honored, relatives had already swept thru and cleaned out the house, grabbing everything that wasn't nailed down. Just one of the things that was at stake.......was a large collection of ORIGINAL Hummel figures.......... not Bradford Exchange copies......the REAL McCoys.........Worth a small fortune-----which belonged to my ancient Scottish grandmother. There was also an intricately done solid gold coach/carriage necklace in solid gold, that my sister admired for years, and my grandmother had promised to her countless times......and indeed, was specifically mentioned in the will.
Needless to say.......everything vanished and "no one" had any clue where all these items went or who could have taken them, or who cleaned out the house.
We all had our suspicions, and it was unfortunate.....but without proof, or knowing the exact whereabouts of the items...........there wasn't much to be done.
Wills assume there are people in control of the situation who will HONOR your wishes............not greedy jackals. .....who cleaned out the house, while the rest of us were at the funeral.....or before her body was even cold.
There wasn't an aunt or uncle who didn't know the value of those Hummels, and she had long promised various ones to various people.
