Can bass actually see braided line and do they care?
I am using 20lb power pro in moss green color. Can the bass see the line and do they care? Would it help to switch to 15lb? Thanks.

Depends on a few different situations-
#1. Water Clarity- Are you fishing in crystal clear water? Can you easily see 5-8 FT down when peering into the water? If so, you might want to try Fluorocarbon as a main line OR use a 14-18" Fluro leader. In super clear water braid can spook Bass- esp if the area your fishing gets a lot of fishing pressure.
#2. Fishing Pressure- In areas where Bass are heavily targeted- line/line diameter size, boat position, how quiet you are, what size/color lure your using, how FAR or accurately you can cast, ALL can make a difference in how many fish you catch. However, in many cases, if the water clarity isn't super high, line diameter won't make as much a difference as the other parameters I mentioned.
Your currently using 6/20 Braid- which has the diameter of 6LB Mono line. Moving down to 4/15 diameter Braid could help- but, in my opinion, probably not.
4/15 Braid is so small in diameter it easily gets boogered after only 1-2 caught fish. Do you want to have to retie your lure after every single fish caught? Plus, if your fishing around structure, (docks, woody Rip/rap, heavy grass), 4/15 Braid can easily be cut. I see no good reason to use 4/15 Braid- IF you need a more stealthy line go to 10LB Fluorocarbon- Fluorocarbon has about 10 times more abrasion resistance than 4/15 Braid.
Hope this helps?

We guess at what fish are able to see. what we hope is that they do not and that the lure is sufficient to distract them from any evidence of the fishing line.
