Why doesn't the boneheads at NASA start using soler power?

They is supposed to be geniouses right? Well how come they still using fossel fuels to power there spacechips and go scooting around the soler system wasting OUR tax dollors?!? Thanks a lot Obama I have two jobs and they both pay the minimum wage and you spending our moneys on frivolous escapades into the netherrealm of space. And as for you planet-huggers who will say "but we need to learn stuff" we have been exploring space for thousands of years and what have we learned about our OWN planet. Soler power - Seem like it would be more astroeconomical

I have no idea why those geniouses don't use soler power. It would be very astroeconomical if they did that.

NASA's solar powered Juno space-probe will arrive at Jupiter in time for America's 4th of July holiday this year.

They launched it back in 2011.

Why are you whining about something NASA's already doing? Don't you realize how stupid you look right now?

NASA didn't make you grow up a failure working minimum wage jobs cause you can't get a real job.

That's entirely your own fault. Not NASA's, not Obama's, nobody's but your own.

So quit making excuses and trying to blame others for your f*ck ups in life.

    We do use solar power.

The director of NASA responded those questions in 1970 in a letter titled "Why Explore Space". Read this, kid: http://www.lettersofnote.com/2012/08/why-explore-s...

What do you think powers all the satellites in orbit? Even the ISS??

    Yes, I'd like fries too.

    1. Because you could never get a rocket into space using solar power.

    2. If you don't know how to spell "solar", you're way too stupid to get a good job.

Thank you for your rant - minimum wage jobs and misused English words and all. If you don't know how to spell solar, why do you think you can judge the relative uses of power sources.

By the way, a rocket powered by oxygen and hydrogen could get those from solar electrical power breaking down water to get them.

Maybe, if you learned some English, you'd read up on just what NASA actually uses to power its rockets. Fossil fuels, like the ones you use in your car, or gets used to generate the electricity for you to use a computer, are far too bulky to be used in rocket engines.

But they do use solar power in satellites ... That's one of the uses of solar power to get electrical energy.

And it's only recently that we've begun to explore the solar system; previously, it was observation and speculation about what could be out there -- now we're confirming stuff like the fact that the Moon is NOT made of green cheese
