When you are at the New Mexico side of Four Corners and you kill someone that's on the Utah side, which law counts?

    Well, in that type of crime, the state you did the crime can ask for your extraction, with a fugitive with out a warrant, by the way of NCIC. You will go to New Mexico Fugitive court for extraction hearings. For that type of capital crime, the NCIC hit would be nationwide for extraction.

    Most times, like in Louisville,KY the cops will just hand over the criminal to the cops from Clark County or New Albany Indiana if it is a crime with a hot pursuit. The Kentucky/Indiana state line is in the middle of the Ohio River.

    Source(s): My last profession at Louisville Metro Corrections. The local courts have 2 courts for fugitive extraction. Mainly to New Albany and Clarksville Indiana. Sometimes to both counties.
