How do i introduce my black boyfriend to my parents?

I'll try to keep this short.

I've been dating this guy for about six months now and i want my parents to meet him, they know his name and that we have been together for a while but they have never seen him.

My parents are not very religious but we live in a largely white community and their views on a lot of things are quite old school sort to speak.

So i dunno what's the best way to go at it.

Got any ideas?

Don't just spring him on them like that, especially if you do not know how they might respond. They might say something offensive or even look horrified. How do you think that would make your bf feel? For that reason, I would tell them alone, ahead of time. This is a show of respect for both your parents and your boyfriend..

That is a tough one, i had a similar problem where my parents didn't accept the girl I was with cause she had a different background. What my parents told me was at the end of the day you can do whatever you want but they said they will never be happy with the decision and so on. At the end of the day what i believe is if parents truly love their children then it shouldn't matter who you date or go out with. Not like its bad or hurting anyone. Like seriously what is wrong with it ? Do what makes you happy, better to confront them sooner than later. Lets say they don't approve and you do end up breaking up with this guy, you've only seen him for 6 months compare to if you tell them a year later and you've developed stronger feelings. I say you both tell them together and hopefully it all works out for you, I really mean that.
