What features should I look for in a food vacuum sealer? Are there certain brands better than others?

About a year or so ago I got a Foodsaver brand and I LOVE it!! It's easy to use and I can easily find the plastic bags/rolls to use in it. I especially love the model V2470 that I got because it folds up to store in very little counter space.

Of-course there are better ones, but as long as the food remains sealed/no chemicals in the plastic... It should make the cut. What I'd recommend on top of that is freeze dried foods. Then it would become a fun activity with ice cream , etc, and also be able to store it forever at room temp(survival food). Of-course , it could cost an arm and a leg for the dry freezer. This is one site I know of , I"m sure there are more..
harvestright.com. The features you should look for is quality of plastic, pressure of vacuum, and how secure the seal is..
