Can I get in trouble if the company made a billing error? HELP!?
I got my oil changed a month ago. I also got my tires re adjusted or whatnot.
My total should have been $42 but at the register, I was charged $17.
They called a few days later saying they rang me out under the wrong account and that I paid for someone else's bill and needed me to pay mine.
I hung up out of nervousness.
Then, I saw that they refunded my $17, probably because they needed to bill the other lady whose bill I paid, properly.
Theyve called four times for payment, but the messed up!
Can I get in any legal trouble?
I paid money, and left the shop. They refunded it because it was the wrong amount. I feel like Im fine but they keep calling!!!
PLEASE HELP!?

You are legally obligated to pay for the services you asked for that they provided. Yes, you can get in trouble over this, you need to pay for services rendered.
You got a refund on the $17, go down and pay them for the $42. It's a no brainer.

It sounds like you owe them $42 for the services you received. Call them up and simply make arrangements for paying for it. There's nothing to be nervous about. If anything, they'd be the ones who'd be nervous.

Yes, you're legally obligated to pay for the service you received. It's an inconvenience to you to come back in and pay, so the shop might consider throwing you a discount as a goodwill gesture, but that's at their discretion.
Are they going to sue you for a $40 oil change you passively didn't pay due to an error? Probably not. But do you want to be that guy? And, might you ever want to do business with that shop again?
Being reasonable with people is the right thing to do and pays dividends down the line.

You owe the money. Go pay it. Your money has been refunded and you know you owe, pay.

They could sue you in civil court. Yes they made an error but they found it and tried to fix it and you knew it was wrong at the time. You owe the money morally.

You received the service and you knew what it should cost. Why do you think you are entitled to a free oil change and tire adjustment or whatnot?

You've received goods and services to the value of $42 and think that somehow you don't have to pay for it -- and can simply ignore it .
Are you really that dumb?

Wow, your parents failed you horribly. Yes, you should pay what you owe. The worst case scenario, which I hope you're subjected to, is they put a lien on your car.
