Facts:
1. No Presidential candidate is required to release tax returns. It is a precedent set by Richard Nixon, after his VP Agnew resigned over tax issues, wanted to assure the public that he was "not a crook". But there's no law that compels Trump to release his taxes.
2. The IRS has already said that there's no problem with Trump releasing tax returns during an audit.
3. There's also no law that says he can't continue to run his businesses and be President at the same time. It was George H W Bush that started the "blind trust" to counter attacks that he was a wealthy elitist who would profit from the Presidency.
4. Bonus - there's also no law that says the candidates need to debate. I'm waiting to see if any are truly scheduled.

The audit is not relevant. It's just an excuse. Trump will not show his tax return because he pays no taxes.

Trump could choose to release the unaudited return on his own. He could choose to release prior years returns (audited or not) if he chose. He chooses not to. I question why he chooses not to, when it has been customary for presidential candidates and sitting presidents to do so for the past five decades.
The Washington Post revealed yesterday that despite claiming to giving millions to various charities, Trump has given something more like $10,000 over the past seven years. Heck, I have given more than that, and I'm not the billionaire he claims to be, and I haven't repeatedly and publicly claimed to have given millions. Perhaps his tax returns would prove the Post's other research.
While he is not required to release the returns, his refusal to do so raises questions in my mind, and extends my concern about his fitness to be president. And I am not alone in that.

It's the same slimy innuendo that Dirty Harry Reid pulled on Romney during the last election. Reid, a supposed "statesman," said he heard a rumor that Mitt Romney didn't pay any taxes the previous year. With the help of the sleazy left-wing mainstream news media, the cackles screaming for Romney to release his tax returns grew to such a fever pitch, her released them. The TRUTH is he paid huge amounts in taxes, and also made huge charitable contributions (Republicans do that).
It's just another sleazy accusation brought on by desperate liberals including the corrupt mainstream media.
Why aren't the left-wing liberals screaming for Hillary to release her tax returns? And copies of her speeches where she earned millions of dollars talking to her great buddies on Wall Street?
Liberals would be immediately sunk if they held themselves to the same standards they hold others to.

Just because he is running for President doesn't require that he release his tax returns and certainly shouldn't if they are under audit by the IRS.

The "IRS Audit" is just an excuse not to release the returns.
There seems to be something in them that he doesn't want people to see:
Either:
1) He doesn't make as much as he claims; or,
2) He used accounting and tax gimmicks to pay very little; or,
3) He donates almost nothing to charity; or,
4) A combination of the above.
