If you have to, I got spanked as a kid and I spank if necessary.

my kid hasnt needed spanking in months, mostly talking is all thats needed, and there are plenty of boring cleaning jobs he hates being made to do on his own, if bad behaviour continues after that then he might find himself in that familiar uncomfortable position, but it hasnt happened since an incident on holiday at the end of last year

there are a few things he could do to earn himself an instant spanking but he knows very well what they are and doesnt do them.

depending on the situation... if they are acting up in a public place running all over the place after telling them a couple times to stop then yes get a hold of them and give them one or 2 good swats ... even if you don't do it hard its embarrassing for them which in turn he or she may act better at the next store. You know right from wrong, so anytime they are misbehaving after you told them 1 maybe 2 times to quit and they don't quit. give a little swat.. an im saying you know like back talking, running around stores like crazy, doing something harmful ... things like that.. get it to the point where all you have to do is give that "im spank you" look... and every thing is right in the world again.

No.. You can discipline a child without hitting. If it's not okay to hit as an adult, why is it okay to do it to a child? spanking is the easy way out, honestly

depends on what the kid did but in most cases no, punishment usually does the trick. But if you are in risk of raising a gang banger or a hooker. . . beat their *** then get them into some school activities.
