My girlfriend was hitting me a lot so I snapped and hit her back?

Basically my girlfriend and I had a bit of an argument and I packed my stuff and said I'm leaving going home.

She went crazy, stormed up to me and started slapping me hard on the side of my head. Pinching scratching and biting me. Throttling me at my neck. At first I held her wrists to restrain her and said get off me let me go.

She kept following me around the room. She then slapped me very hard on the side of my head and pinched my arm hard that it scratched deeply so I lashed out and punched her in the face. It wasn't a full on punch more of a scuff. It didn't leave a mark just a slight bit of pinkness.

I have deep cuts on my arm. Should I feel bad about this? I feel terrible but she started hitting me first a lot and I gave her 5-10 mins to stop it.

Thanks mate appreciate it. I just completely lost it. I had a hold of her wrists and she was saying "get off" and I said "I'll get off if you stop hitting me" so I let them go and straight away she resumes hitting me then pinched my arm hard leaving a cut so I was enraged and punched her in the face or like scuffed her under her eye.

I'm really pissed off. I love the girl and I'm non violent but she drove me to hitting her. I gave her ample chances to stop hitting me I couldn't walk off my shoes were downstairs and her door was shut could nt open it properly without being whacked in the back of the head.

I actually feel physically sick over he whole incident. It's happened once before except that time I wasn't hungry / sick so I had the strength to just restrain her wrists until she eventually stopped

bro...she was assaulting you. i woulda done the same thing and punched her really fuckin hard if she did that to me. no you should not feel bad
