Why are college admissions staff so incredibly rude?

I can't say the same for all colleges I've been to, but in general most admissions staff members are rude. Currently, I'm working my way through admissions at a local college and have had no help from admissions whatsoever. Although I am familiarized with how the process works (ive done it many times) , I can't imagine the frustration I would feel if I were a kid straight out of high school doing all of this for the first time. After all, i'm going to be paying back these loans in the long run - would it hurt to be at least a little more polite?

you be the judge and tell me what you think. Do you think maybe im exaggerating and over generalizing based on a few bad experiencing? or could there be some truth to this concept I've brought up?

your input is appreciated and you all deserve the best

Funny isn't it ? I was nearly turned off from a school just from the antics and rude behavior of the admission staff and process . Now that I've been accepted though , hm, people seem to be a lot nicer !

Always make sure you smile a lot and call them sir and madam and be really really nice. It usually wins them over after a while. They are just so used to rude obnoxious know-it-alls who think the world owes them a living. You may be the first nice person they have heard all week.

I could be wrong but I think part of the problem is that there are to many people who do ask for help from these folks and they are just tired of hearing it and are wearing thin. It may not be anything you specifically have done, but imagine getting hundreds, if not thousands, of people coming at you with the same questions and concerns.
