What is the difference between the dogs: golden newfie vs flatcoat retriever?

i thought a flatcoat was a golden / newfoundland mix??

    A Flat Coated Retriever is it's own breed with predictable qualities. A newfie/golden mix is a mutt with unpredictable qualities.

    There is no such thing as a golden newfie. those dogs are mutts.

    Where as Flat Coated Retrievers are pure bred dogs

    A golden Newfie isn't an accepted breed standard, they come in four colors, golden isn't one of them.

    A flat-coated retriever Is a different breed and only comes in two colors; Black and yellow.

    might you mean a bronze newfie? That's a color variation for the newfoundland breed and a flat-coated retriever isn't even in a newfoundland's foundation stock or vice versa.

    Flat coated retrievers have much of the same foundation stock as labrador retrievers.
