Why is my Iphone 5s screen lighting up but its not displaying anything?

I was replacing my battery so I took the screen off of my phone. I put the new batter in and it works fine but when I am putting the screen back on it lights up but its just black. I am pretty sure I am connecting the screen back to the phone correctly however it is still not working. What am I doing wrong?

    Are you sure, you haven't taken off any tape or there's anything wrong with the connectors ? If you take off the tapes, you might short the screen.
