why do planes look different in person landing than in video?

You are NOT flying a A320 - you are flying a "sim game" which has no similarity to actual airplane -

Go into a real A320 flight simulator and you will probably "crash and burn" during the takeoff roll...!

Video games do not give you a comparable picture -

In addition you do not have motion, proper visual picture and physical inputs from the simulator -

These "sim games" are unfortunately giving bad habits which instructors will need to correct -

In real flight simulators, you look mostly at your flight instruments - not the visual picture outside -

If you intend to be a pilot, for your own benefit, I suggest you no longer play with "sim games" -

Another thing you do not have with "sim games" is... an instructor - for advice and critique -
