Programs for drawing and animation (2D and 3D) and for video games)?

Can you recommend me some good programs for drawing and animation that have trials. Not looking for free programs (I asked another question for that). A friend of mine wants to get into animation and I want to help her out. Anything that allows her to draw and animate her drawing. I am clueless what to look for as I am not a artist. And if you could tell me why you're recommending it (though you don't have to).

    There are tons and tons of softwares to use. Google any one of these programs to get a better understanding of what they are used for, their price ranges and other info. I share what i know and this is right up my alley. lol
