Does EU want Britain to stay just to bail out poor Southern Europe?

The EU is a group of 28 countries. 18 take more money out than they out in.

5 of the other 10 contribute very little.

The EU is supported by 5 countries.

The UK is a major contributor.

When the UK leaves then the remaining 4 will either have to pay more or the 18 takers will have to take less.

There are several other countries that are worried that the UK leaving will trigger their own referendums to leave.

The EU has moved from a trade group to trying to achieve political union. This is something the UK population did not like or want.

Many other countries populations feel the same.

Well the EU are losing a major financial contributor, which will affect the EU, and the countries that are being financially being supported, it will affect the EUs mass of officials /employees and the huge wages and benefits they get and it could very well encourage other high contributing countries to also leave

Partly, it's that, but more importantly the EU is much stronger with the UK in it than it is with the UK out of the EU.

The EU wants Britain to get on with it and scarper.
