Make sure you have the Thief Stone activated, and you sleep at an inn (or home) with your wife or husband. Something that many people don't know is that for the purposes of Standing Stones, Archery actually falls under Thief skills, not warrior skills. People end up activating the Warrior Stone to get the 20% XP boost for archery and it never happens. Remember, you can also visit trainers and pay to level up your skills. Once you have paid them and leveled up the skill, simply pickpocket the trainer to get your money back. Stealing back the money is a HUGE help to the substantial cost of paid training.

It helps to understand how skills work in the game. You get archery skill based on the successful damage you do with bows and arrows - you have to hit your target in order to increase the skill. To make the skill go up faster, you need to use bows and arrows with the highest damage you can get, fighting creatures as powerful as possible. I fast travel from giants camp to giants camp, or from dragon lair to dragon lair, to increase archery.
It's possible that sneak bonuses, enchantments, etc, that increase bow damage may also speed up archery skill. It's been awhile since I played, so I can't recall for certain. You can pay trainers to increase archery and read books that increase archery skill, too. See: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Archery
