Why Do Some Churches Allow Gay Marriage?
It's strictly against Gods word to be gay so why are there so many Churches that allow gay marriage? Am I missing something?
Sorry If my question sounded offensive, I merely meant, there are bible verses saying being gay is an abomination, when I said it's against Gods word I was referring to that.

You said and I quote: "It's strictly against Gods word to be gay"
Yes you are a little short of facts. There is not a single verse in the Bible that supports what you said.
There are a half dozen anti gay verses that do support you and yet all of them are the opinion of the author.
All that said, there are many other verses in the Bible from the exact same book that you do not observe, can you tell me what verses in the Bible said its okay for you to be selective in what you will observe.
As you clearly have no idea I have provided a like to a video by Americas best Christian, she explains what is a Bible based marriage.

What part of "Thou shalt not bear false witness" did you not allow yourself to understand?
Anyone who tells you that being gay is a sin is a victim of the largest and oldest con job on earth. It is well known that all 6 (6. Count 'em. 6 out of thousands) of the so-called "anti-gay" verses were mistranslated and misinterpreted multiple times over the centuries, either through simple error or from political expedience. Here's how to read them they way they were actually written: http://www.believeoutloud.com/boltoday/20111230/cl...
There, see? Not one word of those is actually "anti-gay". Not. One. Word.
The Bible is and always has been a tool for political control. This is less important today in literate Western Society, but in a preliterate Society, it was critical tool for controlling the population. "Translation errors" which made the ruler's job easier were inserted into holy works routinely. In the case of homophobia, they were inserted because the early church needed vast numbers of worshipers in order that it could compete against the established religions of the day. The best way to get those new worshipers was to breed them, and thus "be fruitful and multiply" came into being. Sometime during the past 2000 years we've forgotten the reason why and now all that remains in the religion's institutional memory is the manufactured "fact" that being gay is evil.
Think about it. Jesus was supposed to have travelled all over the place, healing the sick, curing the crippled and generally tossing miracles around left and right. Why then, in all that time was he never once shown "curing" a gay person? There he was, hanging around with 12 other dudes, oiling each other up and generally having a fun time and what was he saying? "Love thy neighbour." "By their fruits shall ye know them." "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." and the biggie: "Judge not, that ye be not judged." Not once did he ever say anything about being gay. Not. One. Word.
Also, and this is a very important distinction to make, the first marriage was recorded in Mesopotamia in 2,350 BC. Christianity took it on in 1563 at the Meeting of Trent where it was first recorded as a sacrament. Therefore marriage has been NON religious for 3,900 out of 4,300 years. Christianity doesn't own marriage; Christianity just STOLE it.
Even today, you're not really married until you sign those papers in the church office. Marriage is a purely Civil matter; it's got nothing to do with any church anywhere. This is why Atheists who get married in the forest or on the beach are just as married as any god-botherer who suffered through a 3 hour church wedding. It doesn't matter a hill of beans how holy your church service was. If you don't sign those Government papers, you aren't married, sunshine.

It's also strictly against God's word for all of the following: When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord (Lev. 1:9). The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. How should I deal with this?
I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as it suggests in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?
I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness (Lev. 15:19-24). The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense. Lev. 25:44 states that I may buy slaves from the nations that are around us. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans but not Canadians. Can you clarify? I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself? A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination (Lev. 10:10), it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this?
Lev. 20:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear prescription glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here? I know you have studied these things extensively, so I am confident you can help.
Thank you again for reminding us that God's word is eternal and unchanging.

Gay marriage is illegal in the Church of England, which is my denomination, but that was imposed by the government and many vicars would very much like to perform same-sex weddings. If you think homosexually expressed love is always sinful, your conscience, as informed by the Holy Spirit, ought to be convicting you that you are reading Scripture wrongly. That doesn't mean gay marriage is okay, but that's because of the marriage bit rather than the gay bit. Paul says that we should avoid marriage unless we burn with lust, and in the Kingdom of Heaven nobody will be married, as Christ said.

If God is against homosexuality, why doesn't he do something about it instead of creating millions more every generation? Maybe Moses injected his own prejudice into what he claimed were God's laws. How would anyone know? "God told me, trust me." In any case, Jesus never mentioned it, so it couldn't be all that important.

Some churches believe that God is still expressing his will. Seems like a more reasonable viewpoint than thinking that a book written thousands of years ago has much relevance to modern life.

Hypocrite. You are no one to define God's word. God loves all his children. Your bigoted version of Christianity is intolerable to most people. There are many open and affirming churches. That's the way it should be! Who wants to go to heaven if you have to spend eternity with narrow minded bigots?
