How to overcome Depersonalization and Derealization Syndrome?
I will tell you a bit about myself so your aware of my situation and you understand my question. April 7th, 2016 my friends mom got guardianship of me since I'd been staying with them since December. Before I came to them, I was physically and verbally abused by my mother, brother and father. My father was the only one that physically abused me and that was rarely. I have Depression, PTSD, Anxiety, and Depersonalization and Derealization Syndrome. I'm on Zoloft which is an anti-depressant and anti-anxiety medication. I'm doing CBT and DBT therapy with my counselor. It took a while to find out how I could describe DDS (DDS, Depersonalization and Derealization Syndrome) but after searching online I finally found out what it was. I had all of the symptoms. I've had it since 6th grade and I am in 9th grade. (I'm 14) I'm in a happy and supportive home with people who really love and care about me and treat me like I deserve. Yet, I can't seen to get rid of this. It's almost like the color has drained out of the world, my five senses; hearing, touch, taste, smell, and sight have depleted. I feel like I'm in a play or a movie and I don't feel real. It also feels like theres cotton in my head. I'm tired of feeling this way. I don't even feel love sometimes. Please help and give any advice you can because I will do anything to get rid of this and overcome it. I am not in contact with my parents.

Life is terrible for any child that is not nurtured with love and kindness. You develop an unloving spirit which spawns anxiety, depression, and you are unable to cope with life. What you briefly said about your parents shows they also inherited unloving spirits, spirits of fear, etc and these are generational curses that have come down through your ancestry. I'm an old woman and to my knowledge from years of experience, the only cure is Jesus Christ. In His name unloving spirits can be cast out. By knowing Jesus, all fear will leave you. When you learn to fully trust the Lord Jesus Christ, nothing anyone can do to you will worry you. You will NOT fear anything, because when Christ is for you and in you, who can be against you? It is wonderful to know that the Holy Spirit inside of me guides, protects, provides and no man can take me out of His hand.
Instead of believing everything the world tells you about who you are, you will begin to believe who Jesus tells you that you are. And He promises never to leave us or forsake us. He is a perfect help in our time of need.
The psychiatrist has no cure. The drugs offered to you will continually increase until the withdrawal is an every day constant thing. In other words you will reach the point that you can't get enough drugs into you to stop your mind from being your worst enemy. Your battlefield is in your mind and the devil has control of your mind at this very moment. He also had control of your biological family. It is Christ Jesus who gives us the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit through the washing and cleansing of the Word of God, the Holy Bible,
renews our minds. You need the mind of Christ or as close to it as you can possibly get. When you get there, out of your mouth will flow what you've learned from the Holy Bible and the Holy Spirit will bring the Scriptures to your remembrance. It is the Lord who rewires the brain and puts the past behind us. He teaches us to forgive those who have abused and used us. You may never forget, but you must forgive. You must forgive for your own self. Bitterness is like an infection that gets worse and worse. Forgiveness sets you free. And those whom Christ sets free are free indeed. The Lord left us His peace and His peace surpasses all understanding; it is wonderful. Receive from the Lord; accept Him as your Savior and ask forgiveness of your sins and for those who have sinned against you. The Bible teaches us to honor our mother and our father so our days will be long upon this earth. In your case, you honor them for giving you life and you forgive them for their abuse. This allows you to move on past and you will now have a Heavenly Father who loves you very much. Everything created was created for you and you, my friend, were created for His pleasure. Yes, it pleasures the Lord when He looks down upon you. God says you are fearfully and wonderfully made. Accept Jesus as your Savior today and invite Him into your life. You will be glad that you did.
