Should I use Wordpress for my entire site, or should I only use it on part of my site?

I am a beginning programmer with HTML and CSS. I want to create a foreign language website to teach German. I want static pages which focus on grammar and a daily blog which shows vocabulary in context using daily news from German-speaking nations.

Should I use Wordpress to power the site and create static pages for the grammar or should I use Wordpress on only part of the site and use HTML and CSS as my main programming tools?

Thank you for your answers.

Wordpress will meet all your stated needs and will provide an integrated look and feel for your site. There would be no apparent advantage to creating a separate website and combing that with a Wordpress blog.

Web design is relatively easy, I would learn HTML and CSS and avoid wordpress. I can send you some templates if you are really stuck.
